the amount of beauty, style, and grace is out of this world...
Kim Novak, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, Diana Dors, Gene Bujold, Catherine Deneuve, Joan Collins, Shirley Eaton, Jacqueline Bisset, Carol Landis, Hayley Mills, Honor Blackman, Ann-Margret, Yvonne CRaig, Inger Stensland, and Jane Russel...just to name a few!
The makings of one of the most beautiful nights spent. A night that makes you wish you had every family member with you, old and young. Grams and Pops would have loves it!
I had never been to the bowl before, needless to say...I'm hooked. We got to bring goodies in, a couple bottles of wine...some cheeses, nuts, berries, and cookies. (what can I say?) We sat literally in the middle of everything on long benches, hard to get in and out...but where would you want to go during such amazing performances? Oh, did I mention the amazing fireworks and Brazilian samba dancers, yeah
Seu Jorge, maybe most famously from Life Aquatic, as Pelé Dos Santos, and is musical mastermind of some of the best music on the soundtrack, and an amazing David Bowie cover. He also appeared in the film City of God as Mané Galinha. AND HE'S HAS MADDDD STYLE AND GORGEOUS FEATURES. end of story.
Bebel Gilberto, born Isabel Gilberto de Oliveir is an American-born Grammy Award-nominated Brazilian popular singer often associated with bossa nova. She is the daughter of João Gilberto and singer Miúcha. Some ammmmazing roots if you ask me. Basically what you should know about her is she is a women who oooooooooozzzzzes sexuality and confidence.
...an overall super night that just reminds me again that just because I don't live in the decade of my choice, sometimes I can pretend and others join in on the fun.
She was "too young" to go to Woodstock 69' buttt that didn't stop her from sharing every last detail about everything that was familiar to her in Taking Woodstock.
Such a cutie.
I must say that the movie starts off a little slow. The main character...Jake, played by Henry Goodman... was hard to love at first. But it really picks up after an acid trip scene at the festival with actor Paul Dano (LOVE HIM from Little Miss Sunshine and newer one, Gigantic, with the lovey Zoey Deschanel)
Biggest let down was that theres not a whole lot of music played or shown. Sad. However, when they have their trip it's one of the best scenes I've seen in ages. When the crowd becomes a wave, magical.
To end, Mom loved it. I really liked it after all things said and done. If you, your mom, or anyone amazing is down to see maybe the best era ever, go see it. Plus, damn....of course...THE CLOTHES!!!!!
Started out life with the one goal of doing things by way. I'm a Culinary graduate that is continually told by psychics that my path lies within fashion. Truth. As I see it I will always live in a world that has no boundaries, has great mussels and clams, where a San Francisco weekend can always be done, and where buying fashion doesn't feel as guilty but rewarding and good.
